Western Wilds is a broad exploration map where the easiest mistakes are missed side branches and unclear return paths. Treat the map as a route planner before starting long cleanup passes.
Route notes
- Sweep the outer edges first so the main loop is easy to recognize.
- Use intersections as note anchors for shortcuts, blockers, and reward checks.
- When a branch looks complete, compare it against the square viewer at a higher zoom level.
Cleanup checklist
- Check the far west and far east edges for small exits.
- Mark any blocked branch before leaving the area.
- Revisit shortcut connections after opening new routes from neighboring regions.
